Latino Uptick Fueling National Increase in Foster Youths
The Chronicle of Social Change - November 24, 2014
In the 28 counties which saw an increase in children and youth entering foster care, the number of Latino children and youth was also on the rise. Another eight counties actually saw a decline in overal foster youth rates, but an increase in Latino foster youth.

Foster Family-based Treatment Association (FFTA) Call for Presentations
The Foster Family-based Treatment Association (FFTA) has issued a Call for Presentation for the FFTA 29th Annual Conference on Treatment Foster Care, which will be held in Denver, CO from August 2-5, 2015. The Conference features over 100 workshops on clinical, administrative, research, leadership, and training topics applicable to treatment foster care and other family-based treatment interventions. When adoption is more like a 'merger' of families

The Elmore and Wells families have entered into a Pre-Adoption Contact Agreement outlining the degree of access by the birth mother to the boys. Such agreements weren't possible in Pennsylvania until 2011, when a change in adoption laws took effect.
